Preschool Update

I absolutely cannot believe that Zachary is heading to school next week. I know it's only preschool, but I am still really surprised how sentimental I've been about the whole thing. Today we went to orientation and as we started walking to his classroom I got teary eyed! With your first child, it's not only a milestone for them but for the parents as well!

Zachary is enrolled at a great preschool in Dashpoint. We made some last minute changes in his preschool in just the last 4 days and I've been amazed at how it has all worked out! On Tuesday I panicked that he hadn't been moved up at all on the waitlist for the morning class at a preschool in Edgewood, so I started calling around to every preschool I could find in the area. As I started to nail down our schedules for fall I just realized that afternoon preschool would create a lot of kinks in our day. I think we could have managed it, but it would NOT have been easy or fun. Anyways, this preschool near our house was actually one that I have heard the most about from local parents and they just happened to have openings for 4-year-olds! The director said it's highly unusual for there to be openings this late in the registration process. I'm so relieved!

So...our big boy will be starting Tuesday and will be going four days a week (half days). I think we're really going to miss having him around all day, but I have to say that my life is about to get a whole lot calmer. After I drop him off on Tuesday I'll probably shed a few tears and then HEAD TO STARBUCKS! :)
