Steve's Brain--Update

Thanks so much for all of the phone calls, comments and emails. We have felt your prayers!

Steve has been resting up a lot today. His body is pretty sore and of course his neck and head are killing him from the whiplash. He explained to me last night that if you picture all of your life on a spectrum from past to future, he can remember everything from one end (past) really clearly, but it gets grayer and grayer as you move toward Saturday. Saturday is BLACK and it gets less and less gray as he thinks toward the future. He can think through things he has to do in October much easier than he can think through what he has to do this week. The memories he's starting to regain are also a little funny. He can remember most things now (besides Saturday), but his memories are void of any feeling or emotion associated with them. (You know how each day or experience has "feeling" behind it...he doesn't have that associated with his memories. He only has mental pictures of what he did.) Brains are so weird.

Our boys have been awesome today. I was gone for a bit this morning while Steve rested in bed. Zachary & Kaden played downstairs and Steve could overhear Zachary tell Kaden, "I am in charge." Meanwhile, the boys went downstairs and completely cleaned their playroom! I came home and was AMAZED! Things weren't shoved in one corner, they were put away in appropriate bins and everything. It was one of my prouder moments as a mom, for sure! :)
