We headed to Ocean Shores last weekend for Mid-Winter Leadership for Young Life (training for all leaders in the region). It's always a great time to be with our leaders in the area that commit so much of their time and hearts to high-school and middle-school kids. We all had the chance to hear from Tony Kriz, who is "Tony the beat poet" from Donald Miller's Blue Like Jazz. (My fave!) Tony is an incredibly intelligent, "professor-like" speaker, but Steve and I thought he offered something really fresh and authentic as a speaker. He ended up speaking until 11 p.m. both nights but instead of falling asleep, we were riveted!
Tony also provided YL with the opportunity to preview this documentary that will be released nation-wide in April called Lord, Save us From Your Followers. The title is a little provocative, I know, but the film is incredibly well done and will stir up a lot of thought in everyone that sees it. We loved it, and I strongly encourage everyone to go see it when it is released in April!

On Sunday, we picked up the big boys at Mom and Dad's and headed straight to Zachary's Winter Program at school. It was the cutest thing ever, OF COURSE! The kids just sang about 20 minutes worth of songs, but it was the sweetest thing. I've decided stuff like that goes on my "Highlights as a Mom" list. I know it was just a bunch of cute kid songs, but I'm not sure I could be any prouder of my child if he had just graduated with honors from an Ivy League College!
