When the Kids Are Away, Mommy Will...

In just 2 days Steve and I headed out to Florida for YL's All Staff Conference without our kiddos! We'll be gone for 6 days which is the longest we've ever left any of them. The boys are thrilled to be spending the night at their Grandparents' houses (both of our parents are splitting the time with them) and I am practically giddy about having this much adult time. Knowing that our babies are in GREAT hands with our parents just gives us perfect peace of mind!

It may sound funny to those of you that have intermittent time to yourself throughout a day, but for those of you like me that, well, don't EVER have a moment to yourself you'll understand that a 6-hour plane ride across the country is almost as exciting as the destination itself!

I plan to take full advantage of no Mommy interruptions:
1. Read my Bible a lot and journal.
2. Devour A Thousand Splendid Suns
3. Do the same with Snow Flower and the Secret Fan
3. Sip lots of Starbucks
4. Watch as many possible episodes of 24, Season 6 on our min-DVD player with Steve
5. Read mindless celebrity magazines
6. Listen to some great speakers downloaded from I-Tunes U (from SPU's site) on my I-Pod. (By the way you should check this out. You can download for FREE great speakers that SPU has invited over the years right to your I-Pod. It's really great!)

And, of course, we're anticipating a refreshing, recharing time while we're in Orlando. The last time we went to All Staff it was a powerful experience for both of us. We're expecting great things!

When I read your To-Do list, I laughed out loud! How much of that did you actually accomplish? I heard from tons of YL friends that they had a blast at ASC, glad you did too! P.S. do you know our Area Director, Nick Wood?! We hang out with he and his wife ALL the time and Los leads a group of Seniors weekly, sweetest guys ever; you can see pics of them in our blog in December! Love from Burlington, Case
