We are officially in the season of big transitions! With less than 1 month to go until my due date we are trying to get a lot done. February is always a crazy month with preparations for the Young Life Banquet in March, but we've added even more to our plate preparing for another baby. Whew!
We moved Kaden into Zachary's room a few days ago. As you can see from the pictures, they pretty much think it is a PARTY! It is really fun for us to watch their bond as brothers grow. When we told Zachary that Kaden was moving in, his face got a very worried look. Then we talked about how Uncle Jay and Uncle Just used to share a room and how COOL it is to have a brother to sleep in your room and he quickly got excited. (Anything Jay and Just do is the best in Zachary's book...) The boys are up very early each morning just talking and laughing in their room. We have very tired boys by bedtime, but that just makes for a quieter, longer evening for Steve and I. (No complaints here!)
This weekend we're going to focus on painting the big boy's room and the baby's room. Well...I'm not actually painting anything. Steve is painting Zachary's room and Renae and Steph very graciously offered to paint over Kaden's red walls for us. Carpet comes early next week and then we should be set! I can't wait to set up the baby's room. We have the greatest friends and family who have spoiled us like crazy. My FABULOUS Mops friends threw me a shower and treated us to all new decor and bedding for the baby's room. I have it sitting out in our family room and have been going through it each day. I just love it!! Our old college friends threw a luncheon for us last weekend and spoiled us with Target gift cards. We have a very, very long list of practical items for the boy's rooms that we need so we were very grateful for that gift. We are so blessed.
We also had a great Valentine's Day celebrating with our awesome Young Life kids from Beamer High School. Steve and Joel had all the guys invite dates and the boys made a steak dinner for the girls. Steve wanted to teach the guys how to "treat a lady" and I think they did a great job! The high-school guys told Steve they definitely thought the night was a success. It was pretty cute.
